The Eurovision Top 100 all-time list rolls on with number 99, Turkey’s first appearance: “Düm Tek Tek” by Hadise.
In earlier editions of this list, under prior scoring rubrics we used, I was not sure this song would make it. The most recent prior list had it at 102, so you can imagine the disappointment that this fantastic song would miss. The good news is that the new scoring rubric was born, and “Düm Tek Tek” jumped just enough to crack the top 100. No honorable mention for this one.

What I Liked
If you want high energy, then this song gave it to you and then some. It had a great beat which hit you in the face right out of the gate. Without a doubt, this was one of Turkey’s best entries, and not only that, but one of their most fun.
Back to the beat: In a way, it’s addictive. Those who have listened to this performance know that every time Hadise sung that the beat was going “düm tek tek,” you have the uncontrollable urge to pump your fists with each syllable. It’s just science.
Her staging was quite good as well. This was one of the more effective uses of pyrotechnics in recent times. I feel as though you see them at Eurovision sometimes and they don’t add much but a bit of flair, but in this song, they fit the energy of the performance.
