Supernova 2025 Rankings: Top 10

While drama continues in other national selections, we forge ahead with Latvia’s Supernova 2025 rankings.

The national broadcaster, LTV, will air the Latvian national selection in February.  However, as of early December, we have heard all 20 songs in the competition.  Among the contenders are two former Eurovision acts, Justs (2016) and Citi Zēni (2022), and a frequent flyer, Markus Riva, who will be appearing at his ninth Supernova.

Latvia got a shot of enthusiasm after the surprising qualification of Dons in the 2024 contest.  What will they do for an encore?  All will be learned at Supernova in February 2025, but for now, we dig into our top ten from this slate.

Also, be sure to keep up to date on the 2025 national finals schedule here.

Top 10 Supernova 2025 Songs: Unofficial Rankings

Please note the following: These are unofficial rankings as our scoring system, which can be seen here, relies on staging in order to compute a complete score.  As there is no staging yet, these are incomplete scores. All scores are subject to change as the live version may be very different. Finally, we love and respect all these artists, whether they made the Top 10 or not.

10. “The Water” (Bel Tempo & Legzdina)

This one was okay and harmless, but a bit slow; not sure it would go anywhere at Eurovision but it has to get there first.

9. “Lovable” (Marta)

It was slightly exciting, but pulled in an average scoring profile overall.  Would have liked it to stand out a little more but not a bad effort.

8. “Domāju, tu nāc” (Toms Kalderauskis)

One of the better vocal performances out of all 20 songs.  What held it back was the song itself was a bit dull.

7. “Bur man laimi” (Tautumeitas)

Very unique sound in this contest, and the vocals were not bad.  I suspect this one is going to have a following at Supernova.

6. “Delusional” (Palú)

Quite an interesting song and got off to a good start, but the vocals derailed a bit towards the end.

5. “Something in the Water” (Julianna)

Had a decent sound and not a bad composition.  Uncertain how it will stand out in the contest.

4. “Bound by the Light” (Sinerģija)

Was not the most engaging song out of all 20, but one of the better compositions.  Not bad at all.

3. “Ramtai” (Citi Zēni)

Big change-up from their last song.  Interesting music with a good beat, but vocally average.  Will finish near the top of the table.

2. “Scarlett Challenger” (Katrīna Gupalo)

Another very unique song in this contest, and it was a good blend of strange and interesting.  Could see this doing well.

1. “Fit Right” (Justs)

Great beat – the best one out of all 20 songs.  I thought his 2016 song might have challenged him more vocally than this one, but it’s still a respectable effort and a fun song.  If he nails the live performance, this could win.
