Today, we take a look at the seven songs participating in UMK 2025, and in our shiny new YouTube video, we evaluate each one.
At the end of said video, we furnish you with a top three for this year’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu. This is all very simple and basic.
Finland has one of the most notable national finals out of any country. UMK tends to get its fair share of attention, especially in the past few years. Two years ago, the Eurovision world watched as Käärijä won in a landslide, and just last year, an upset occurred, as “No Rules!” beat the favored song. Aside from that, simply put, it’s just a well-run show.
Who will be at UMK 2025, you ask? Continue on, if you dare.
So, When Is UMK 2025?
The contest will be held on Saturday, 8 February. Per our Eurovision calendar, that’s the date of several other national finals.
What Happened in Finland Last Year?
An artist who shares a name with a computer operating system from my youth won UMK 2024 with the song “No Rules!” He defeated the pre-show favorite, Sara Siipola, after having won the televote by a comfortable margin.
It placed 19th in the Eurovision grand final in Sweden.
