All 16 songs in Benidorm Fest 2025 have been released, so what did we do? We rated them, of course.
Today, we will be presenting to you our top five in advance of Spain’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Sorry to the eleven songs which did not make the cut, but just remember: We love and respect you all, and above all else, good luck. There is still a chance these songs will present well live on-stage and blow us away, so do not take these rankings too seriously.
So, When Is Benidorm Fest?
Benidorm Fest 2025 begins on Tuesday, 28 January and ends with its final on Saturday, 1 February. It will wrap up earlier than the vast majority of other national finals. A calendar of those finals can be found here.
What Happened Last Year?
In what was considered an upset at the time, Nebulossa won the contest in 2024 with “Zorra.” Though a memorable and somewhat sultry performance, it placed 22nd at Eurovision.

General Impression
Using our incomplete scoring rubric, whereas a score of 220 is considered to be average, this group of 16 songs had an average score of just 216.94. A majority of them occupied the same territory musically and could not stand apart from each other. However, a couple of them did because they went in a very different direction. Yes, I know that is vague, but I see potential out of a handful of songs.
Benidorm Fest 2025 Rankings: Top 5
Honorable Mention: “Me gustas tú” (K!ngdom)
While it was not the first time I have ever heard a song like this before, they produced a fun beat and it was one of the more interesting entries.
5. “Loca por ti” (Kuve)
This one also has a good beat. I am hoping for a big performance at Benidorm out of this one to help it shine.
4. “Amor barato” (David Afonso)
David’s song ended up on this list as I thought it was one of the better vocal performances.
3. “Raggio di sole” (Mawot)
How very Eurovision-y that one of the best songs in Spain’s national selection competition has an Italian title. I feel like the vocals are an acquired taste, but no question he does have talent and the song stood out.
2. “Esa diva” (Melody)
This was a fun number and we pushed the vocal scores a little higher during the performance, getting it second place. The question is if this would stand out at Benidorm – or Eurovision – as presently constructed.
1. “La casa” (Celine Van Heel)
Our clear number one song. It hits you out of the gate with a Tito Puente feel, and kept a very unique energy which I appreciated and I think will make a positive impression. It was the most interesting song on the card with decent vocals as well.
