Depi Evratesil 2025 Song Rankings

Armenia is back to a national final, which can mean only one thing: Depi Evratesil 2025 is here.

Twelve songs will compete soon for the right to be Armenia’s representative to the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel.  We will not have to wait much longer to find out who that will be, and fans can enjoy all of the songs, which have been released prior to the contest.

Below, we give a brief evaluation of all 12 and then present our top five contenders.

So, When Is Depi Evratesil 2025?

Armenia’s national selection is taking place on Sunday, 16 February at 4pm Central European Time.

A full calendar of national finals is still available here.  Otherwise, a list of songs and performers already announced can be found here.

What Happened in Armenia Last Year?

Last year, and for the past several, Armenia went with an internal selection.  Their pick for the 2024 contest was Ladaniva, and their song was “Jako.”

Armenia finished in eighth place in the grand final, their first top-ten performance since 2016.  They have not finished in the top ten in consecutive years since the late 2000s.

Depi Evratesil 2025: Individual Song Reviews

Before we begin, as always: We wish all the performing artists the best of luck, and it’s not personal, it’s just Eurovision.

“Ay Paparey Bye” (Simon)

What I Liked: Interesting beat – there are other songs just as upbeat, but it’s a sound that we didn’t hear from anyone else.

What I Didn’t: A common theme you will see here in the “cons” section is that I had an issue with the vocals.

“DaQueenation” (Athena Manoukian)

What I Liked: This has the most impact potential at Eurovision, and people who like, say, Malta, will probably like this.  The song has a good beat and some attitude.

What I Didn’t: I wish there was more for me to evaluate in terms of vocals – she breaks into singing at times. Lyrically, it was not that strong.

“Dare to Dream” (Altsight)

What I Liked: I like that this has a late-2000s alternative song vibe, like the sort you would hear in a movie soundtrack.

What I Didn’t: The vocals were not very strong and I think the hook could have used some work.  The song does not get to any sort of second level.

“Falling” (Sevagir)

What I Liked: The opening riff to the song is pretty good and the vibe of the song is also decent.

What I Didn’t: The vocals are not there for long enough.

“Hey Man” (Gevorg Harutyunyan)

What I Liked: This is very different from every other song in the lineup (in that it’s a slow ballad with a unique sound).

What I Didn’t: The vocals were not for me in any way, shape, or form.

“Losing” (Mels)

What I Liked: It seems like it’s going to be a slower song, but it drops a decent beat.  I think he’s not a bad singer overall.

What I Didn’t: Turn up his volume, please.

“Prayer” (Flora Bichakhchyan)

What I Liked: If I could describe a song as “confident,” then I will use it here, because she is talented.  The ethnic music in the chorus adds a lot of pop. It has potential to succeed.

What I Didn’t: The diction was not clear the whole time.

“Romantic Net” (Milena Mirijanyan)

What I Liked: I almost got a little bit of Alicia Keys in the opening to the song.  This has a different vibe from most others in this contest, and I also think she probably has the best vocals.

What I Didn’t: This is perhaps too slow for most Eurofans and it could get run over by the many fast-paced songs here.

“Survivor” (Parg)

What I Liked: This has a good beat and it’s got parts where it’s a very powerful piece of music.  It may even make a few people want to dance.

What I Didn’t: I was not taken with the vocals.

“Tiny Little Boo” (Anahit Adamyan)

What I Liked: I would be lying if I said it was not at least somewhat catchy and it seems to be that she can sing.  In spite of the cons listed below, this is not a bad song.

What I Didn’t: I am not the target audience for music like this – I’m way too old, frankly – and it is slightly grating.

“Wild” (Anahit Hakobyan & Gasoiia)

What I Liked: This song had kind of a classy undertone and beat at times, but then it gave me the change-up with the male singer.  It’s fairly catchy.

What I Didn’t: I would like to see more energy in the live performance because I think the studio version could have gone harder.

“Will You Marry Me?” (Arsen ft. Kamil)

What I Liked: At least it’s different!  And yes, the beat of the chorus is catchy.

What I Didn’t: I couldn’t with most of the vocals.
