Honorable Mentions: The Not-Top 100 Eurovision Songs of All-Time

Before beginning the list of the Top 100 Eurovision Songs of All-Time, first, we pay honorable mentions tribute to those songs which will not be joining us.

As of the completion of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, we scored 1,721 songs. Of those, 1,621 did not make the top 100 list, because that is called math. Out of those 1,621, there are a handful that had a legitimate case for sneaking into the top 100, but for one reason or another, they did not score highly enough.

Keep in mind the following: Out of our 500-point scoring system, which we have detailed on our rankings videos like this one from 1963, the difference between 100th place and 118th is just three points. The margins are very small.

In any event, time to dole out some honorable mentions to the non-winners. (And yes, there are some winners on the list, to be honest. Let’s start there.)

Honorable Mentions: Winners Outside the Top 100 (101-200)

110.) Ein bißchen Frieden (Germany 1982)

Nicole

This one was two points away from getting into the top 100. We do not consider it Germany’s best song, but it is up there.

125.) Save Your Kisses for Me (United Kingdom 1976)

Brotherhood of Man

The United Kingdom has had so many top-tier songs, it was almost impossible for them all to make the top 100. We noted (as an unpopular opinion) that it was not overly special, but certainly not bad.

141.) Un premier amour (France 1962)

Isabelle Aubret

143.) Un banc, un arbre, une rue (Monaco 1971)

Séverine

150.) The Code (Switzerland 2024)

Nemo

The most recent winner, as of 2024, had a vocally-excellent performance.

169.) Rock Me (Yugoslavia 1989)

Riva

Yugoslavia slid three songs into the top 100, but not its only winner.

176.) Tom Pillibi (France 1960)

Jacqueline Boyer

189.) Rock ‘N’ Roll Kids (Ireland 1994)

Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan

Ireland with their 1994 winner had the same issue as the United Kingdom in 1976: Lots of strong contenders, not all of which will make the cut.

196.) Dansevise (Denmark 1963)

Grethe & Jørgen Ingmann

Honorable Mentions: Notable Non-Winners Outside the Top 100 (101-150)

The following are the songs in the top 200 which did not make the final cut. These are broken into two subheadings: 101st to 150th, and 151st to 200th.

101.) La noia (Italy 2024)

Angelina Mango

She will go on to stardom post-Eurovision, but unfortunately, we could not find her a spot in the top 100.

106.) 10 Years (Iceland 2021)

Daði og Gagnamagnið

This was one of Iceland’s best entries, but that was a very narrow miss.

109.) Rim Tim Tagi Dim (Croatia 2024)

Baby Lasagna

Top 100 or not, this song captivated the hearts of many.

119.) Ey Sham (Israel 1973)

Ilanit

132.) Long Live Love (United Kingdom 1974)

Olivia Newton-John

147.) Het is genoeg (The Netherlands 1965)

Conny Vandenbos

This song was criminally underrated and ahead of its time.

150.) Era (Italy 1975)

Wess & Dori Ghezzi

Notable Non-Winners Outside the Top 100 (151-200)

154.) Runaway (Estonia 2002)

Sahlene

This was Estonia’s best entry, not the song the year prior that allowed them to host.

158.) Beautiful Mess (Bulgaria 2017)

Kristian Kostov

163.) (Italy 1974)

Gigliola Cinquetti

We favored this song more than the one she won with in 1964.

171.) Proud (North Macedonia 2019)

Tamara Todevska

178.) Hemel en Aarde (The Netherlands 1998)

Edsilia Rombley

What a great 90s bop.

184.) Too Late for Love (Sweden 2019)

John Lundvik

186.) To nie ja! (Poland 1994)

Edyta Górniak

195.) Vechny strannik (Russia 1994)

Youddiph

197.) Hold Me (Azerbaijan 2013)

Farid Mammadov

198.) Mama Corsica (France 1993)

Patrick Fiori
