Iceland, robbed of potential victory in 2020 by dreadful circumstance, had another possible winning combination in 2021, but have struggled to find their footing since. This time, ten new Icelandic performing acts will try their hand at producing success for their country.
So, When Is Söngvakeppnin 2025?
This contest will be held over the course of three Saturdays. The first semi-final will take place on 8 February, while the second will be on 15 Saturday. Iceland’s national final takes place on 22 February.

What Happened in Iceland Last Year?
In an upset, former contest winner Hera Björk won Söngvakeppnin 2024 with her song “Scared of Heights,” or “Við förum hærra” in Icelandic.
Her return to Eurovision in 2024 saw her fail to qualify out of the semifinal.
