It’s finally time to spit out the Eurovision 2025 1st semifinal predictions. Who is going to get through to the final?
In the first semifinal in 2025, taking place in Basel, Switzerland, a total of 15 countries will compete. 10 will make it to the final, meaning five are unfortunately going to get sent home with no shot at Eurovision glory.
With the semifinal fast approaching, now is the moment to put down our proverbial marker and predict the 10 countries who will advance.

News and Notes on the 1st Semifinal
- This will take place on Tuesday, 13 May.
- Ukraine has never failed to qualify for a grand final since the semifinals were introduced in 2004.
- Sweden has only failed to qualify for the grand final once (2010).
- Italy, Spain, and host Switzerland will participate in the first semifinal, and will vote in it, but you cannot vote for them, as they are already in the final.
- Norway has qualified seven contests in a row, and Portugal has qualified four years in a row.
- Azerbaijan has not qualified since 2022.
- San Marino has only made the grand final three times while being eliminated in the semifinal 11 times. Their last appearance in the final was in 2021.
